The Quarry Golf Club and Restaurant will be closed for aerification July 30-31, 2012. The course will re-open Aug. 1, 2012. "The Quarry Golf Club is performing the final greens aerification of the year on July 30-31, 2012. Aerification is critical to maintain the health and playability of all turf areas but most importantly greens.   Over time, the greens become compacted from mower and foot traffic and the compacted soils do not allow air, water and nutrients to infiltrate into the root zone effectively. By removing a core of soil and replacing it with clean, pure sand, we are removing thatch and alleviating the compaction that has built-up over the summer.   This cultural practice greatly improves the health of the turf and that, in turn, means great putting conditions for you in less than two weeks.   Thank you for your patience."
